SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC DESIGN, INSTALLATION AND TROUBLESHOOTING

This course encompasses the fundamental principles of energy consumption and solar PV system design. Students will delve into the theory, technologies, applications, advantages, code updates, and the comprehensive A to Z aspects of solar PV power production and storage. The Solar PV Design, Installation, Operation, and Troubleshooting course is an extensive program providing 40 hours of in-depth information and hands-on experience.

Participants will gain practical expertise in various aspects, including racking, wiring PV modules, balancing system components, and staying abreast of the latest advancements in solar photovoltaics through theoretical demonstrations, online videos, and webinars. NEC, Off-grid, Grid-tied, Battery Storage, Inspection & Commissioning are additional topics covered in the curriculum. The primary focus of the training includes energy auditing, solar PV inspection, and NABCEP questions and procedures.

The course features several solar projects, offering insights for those interested in starting a side business. As the solar industry experiences nationwide growth, employment opportunities in solar enterprises are on the rise, making this course a valuable asset for individuals seeking to explore or advance their careers in this expanding field.

Meet the Instructor

Hailing from Bangladesh, Mr. Quayum Abdul has successfully earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in physics. His penchant for writing and translation traces its roots to his student days in Bangladesh. Beginning in 1984, Mr. Quayum actively immersed himself in the field of solar power while pursuing an M.Phil. at Dhaka University. Furthermore, since 2010, he has resumed his role as an educator, imparting knowledge on solar PV design, installation, and troubleshooting at numerous community colleges across California, spanning from the southern to northern regions. Throughout his tenure in Solar PV, he made significant contributions, resulting in 20 global scientific publications.

In 2020, Mr. Quayum Abdul broadened his instructional focus to encompass guiding students in the design, installation, and troubleshooting of electric vehicle charging stations at various community colleges in California. Currently, he is actively curating educational materials, including textbooks, tailored for students concentrating on Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) and solar photovoltaics.
